UKG Pro overview

UKG Pro is the flagship human capital management suite of UKG, the company formed in 2020 by merging Ultimate Software and Kronos. That heritage explains its shape: Ultimate Software brought HR and payroll, Kronos brought timekeeping and scheduling, and the combined product is aimed squarely at organizations whose workforce is hourly and shift-based rather than salaried and desk-bound.

That focus matters because in healthcare, retail, manufacturing and hospitality the hard problems are not org charts and performance cycles — they are whether the right number of nurses are rostered for a night shift, whether a meal break was taken, whether overtime and differentials calculated correctly, and whether the resulting paycheck is right the first time. UKG Pro covers core HR, US payroll with automated tax filing, benefits administration and compensation alongside time and attendance, advanced scheduling, absence management, labour forecasting and break attestation for wage-and-hour compliance.

Multi-country payroll runs through UKG One View, built on the Immedis business acquired in 2023, consolidating payroll across jurisdictions into a single view. Talent capabilities cover recruiting, onboarding, performance, learning and succession, and UKG Bryte provides an AI assistant layer across the suite.

Analytics draw on aggregated workforce data and research from UKG's Workforce Institute, giving benchmarking that few competitors can match at this scale.

UKG is privately held, controlled by Hellman & Friedman with Blackstone as the largest minority investor, and reports revenue above $4 billion. It serves organizations across more than 100 countries.
