Rippling overview

Rippling is a workforce management platform built around what the company calls the Employee Graph: a single, continuously updated employee record that every other module reads from and writes to. The premise is that most administrative work in a company is not any one task but the reconciliation between systems — HR knows someone left, IT does not, finance finds out at the next audit. Rippling's answer is to make employment status the trigger for everything downstream.

In practice that means hiring one person provisions payroll, enrols benefits, ships and enrols a laptop, creates single sign-on accounts, grants app access according to role, and issues a corporate card — and offboarding reverses all of it. The company now offers more than two dozen products across three domains: HR (payroll, benefits, time, recruiting, performance, learning), IT (device management, app provisioning, identity and access control) and finance (corporate cards, bill pay, expense management).

Internationally, Rippling runs native payroll in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and India, offers employer-of-record services across 80-plus countries, and localises its HRIS in more than 85. That combination — domestic HRIS, global employment and IT management on one data model — is what distinguishes it from single-domain competitors.

Founded in 2016 by Parker Conrad and Prasanna Sankar, Rippling serves more than 20,000 customers, passed a billion dollars in annualised revenue by early 2026, and was valued at $16.8bn in its May 2025 Series G.
