Doctor On Demand provides virtual medical and behavioural care to employers, health plans and consumers, with an emphasis on continuity rather than one-off consultations. Its virtual primary care model assigns a member a named physician who conducts annual comprehensive visits, orders labs and screenings, manages chronic conditions over time and coordinates referrals — closer to a relationship with a family doctor than to episodic urgent care, and the basis of its argument that virtual care can improve outcomes rather than only convenience.
Alongside it sit around-the-clock urgent care for everyday illness, and behavioural health with therapy and psychiatry from licensed providers with continuity of clinician across sessions, which materially affects therapy outcomes. Visits happen by video through mobile apps or the web, typically within minutes for urgent care and by appointment otherwise, with prescriptions routed to a chosen pharmacy.
Doctor On Demand merged with Grand Rounds in 2021 to form Included Health, and now operates as Doctor On Demand by Included Health, with the two apps sharing visit records. Employer contracts are per member per month.
