Cloudera Platform overview

Cloudera Platform is a hybrid data and AI platform built for organizations whose data is deliberately spread across public clouds, private data centers and edge locations, and who cannot consolidate it into a single vendor's cloud for cost, sovereignty or regulatory reasons.

The data layer is an open lakehouse built on Apache Iceberg, with Cloudera Object Store powered by Apache Ozone, HDFS or selected third-party storage underneath. On top sit interoperable services — Data Engineering for Spark pipelines, Data Warehouse for self-service SQL analytics, and Operational Database for low-latency applications — that read the same Iceberg tables rather than maintaining separate copies. Data in Motion, built on Apache NiFi, Kafka and Flink, moves and processes streaming data from the edge inward.

The AI layer runs where the data already sits. Cloudera AI Workbench covers collaborative model development, AI Inference serves both predictive models and large language models, and AI Studios provides lower-code paths to agents and retrieval applications. Because compute is brought to governed data rather than the reverse, regulated organizations can pursue private and sovereign AI deployments without moving sensitive datasets.

Binding it together is Shared Data Experience (SDX), which applies one security, governance and metadata layer across every environment — plus a data catalog, automated end-to-end lineage, and observability for cost and performance tuning.

Cloudera runs on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, and identically on premises. It is used by organizations including Regions Bank, Bank of Montreal, Telkomsel, Vodafone Idea, IQVIA and the US CDC.

Vision

A world where organizations can apply AI to all of their data wherever it lives — in public clouds, in their own data centers, or at the edge — without surrendering control, sovereignty or freedom of choice.

Mission

We bring AI to data anywhere it lives, giving enterprises one open, governed platform across every cloud and data center, so that security, lineage and control travel with the data rather than with the infrastructure.
