Bandwidth is a communications platform distinguished by owning the network underneath it. Where most CPaaS providers resell carrier capacity, Bandwidth operates its own tier-one all-IP voice network across the United States, which removes a layer of margin and a layer of blame when call quality degrades — the reason platforms including Google, Microsoft Teams and AWS route traffic through it.
The product set covers programmable voice with six-second billing increments, SMS and MMS messaging including 10DLC and short code, emergency calling services with dynamic location routing, phone number provisioning and porting at scale, and global voice reach through owned and partner networks. An enterprise focus shows in the surrounding services: number management tooling, regulatory and compliance support for messaging registration, and direct carrier escalation paths.
Published rates start around four tenths of a cent per 10DLC SMS, one and a half cents per MMS, and one cent per minute for outbound local voice, with transcription from four and a half cents. Bandwidth is headquartered in Raleigh and is publicly traded.
