Rather than splitting work across separate vector, raster and layout products, it covers all three: vector design with curve editing and shape tools, pixel editing with advanced retouching and compositing, and page layout with smart master pages and data merge. Editing is non-destructive, with live effects that update as underlying artwork changes, so adjustments remain revisable rather than baked in. File compatibility is a core part of the pitch, with support for PSD, AI, IDML and DWG formats, allowing Affinity to sit alongside existing tools and inherited project files instead of requiring a clean break. AI capabilities are optional rather than built into the base product, available through Canva premium plans for users who want them.
